A 71-year-old woman from Liopetri died on Friday after falling off a ladder at her home, police said.
Panayiota Savva was found by her son at 5.20pm lying on the floor in the living room at the foot of a staircase leading to the first floor.
Police said Savva had head injury probably, caused from the fall.
A spokesman said it appeared the woman was using a ladder trying to reach a bag of clothing in a storage space at the top of the staircase.
She apparently lost her balance and fell and hit her head on the first step before tumbling down the staircase.
A post-mortem is scheduled for Saturday.
